A few weeks ago, we held auditions to pick the next announcers for the Burning River Roller Girls. Thank you so much to everyone who tried out and offered your talents.

We’re very please to introduce our new announcers: Lea Maxwell and Kenny Pick!

You may remember Lea as Gonnolea of the Cleveland Steamers, who retired at the end of Season 5. We’re thrilled she’ll be involved in the bouts by assisting with announcing and emcee duties along with Kenny.

The two will be announcing Black & Blue  6  Nov. 19 with returning announcer Kent Smith.

Speaking of Kent Smith, please congratulate him on recently scoring 100 percent on his certification test for the Association of Flat Track Derby Announcers.

Becoming certified is a big honor … doing so with a 100 percent score is phenomenal. We’re so lucky to have Kent as one of our announcers.

Way to go, Kent! And welcome Lea and Kenny to the announcers’ table!

And don’t forget to buy your tickets at the discounted presale rate for Black & Blue 6! It’s only a few weeks away!
